As the Associate Director of the Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, I have the honor of being involved in a number of very exciting projects that allow faculty and students to make their classroom experiences more engaging. Most notably, I am working closely with Auburn University's Facilities, Office of Information Technology and other units across campus to ensure that the Mell Classroom Building, opened in Fall 2017 with over 20 active learning classrooms, is fully functional. I am working with faculty from all colleges and schools to give them the opportunity to rethink the way they teach their classes towards engaging students even more. I am also involved in planning the new Academic Classroom and Lab Commons, expected to be completed in Fall 2021, with another 20+ active learning spaces and introductory level science labs. My previous experience as IT Manager for Auburn University's College of Liberal Arts, as instructor in English with a Ph.D. in medieval literature and my ongoing work towards a graduate degree in Adult Education have all shaped these new possibilities.
