Beverly serves as Cal State LA’s Director for Academic Technology, housed in the campus’ Center for Effective Teaching and Learning (CETL). 

She provides strategic leadership to help implement and support a wide variety of academic technology tools (e.g., Canvas, Zoom, Qualtrics, Turnitin, iClickers).  She manages the campus’ instructional design team and consults with faculty on course redesign.  She also oversees three high-tech active learning classrooms and facilitates a 2-day Active Learning workshop for Cal State LA faculty.  She has worked as a K-8 technology teacher, software trainer, and instructional designer.  She holds an M.A. in Instructional Technology & Media from Teachers College at Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Communication from UC Santa Barbara.
