Dr. Mary M. Somerville serves as University Librarian for University of the Pacific Libraries in Sacramento, San Francisco, and Stockton, California.

Her leadership approach combines participatory design and action research to co-create workplace learning systems, professional information practices, and collaborative learning spaces. Informed action and interactive evaluation are thereby catalyzed through robust information sharing and inclusive knowledge creation, which progresses collective capacity.
