Prior her current role, Rebecca was Associate Dean of the Claremont Colleges Library, where she led Scholarly Information Resources, Special Collections and Libraries, and Digital Technologies and Scholarship.

Rebecca has extensive experience in library systems, strategic planning for libraries, and digital libraries. She is active in Shared Print initiatives, which allow libraries to share responsibility for preserving collections efficiently, leading the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium’s Shared Print efforts. Rebecca is a delegate to the International Federation of Library Associations’ Global Vision process which began in 2017. She received a Fulbright Specialist Grant in 2016 to work with the National Library of Kosovo.

Previously, she was Director of Discovery, Acquisitions, and Consortial Services at the University of New Mexico Libraries, where she coordinated technical services and the LIBROS consortium of New Mexico academic libraries. Prior to that, she was Head of Cataloging and Metadata Services at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. While at MIT, she was involved in the foundation of the OpenCourseWare project.

Rebecca holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame, an MLIS from Louisiana State University, and an MA in English from Ball State University. She is the editor of Practical Strategies for Cataloging Departments, co-editor of Practical Strategies for Academic Library Managers, and co-author of The Metadata Manual and The Complete Guide to Acquisitions Management.
