Designing Digital Learning Experiences that Drive Student Success



Online education in its various modes has been growing steadily worldwide due to the confluence of new technologies, global adoption of the Internet, and intensifying demand for a workforce trained periodically for the ever-evolving digital economy. Technological advancements and wider internet access have made the online education model an increasingly viable option for learning and career advancement.

While Online and E-Learning has grown steadily in popularity, in some respects almost taking over traditional study – at the University of New England in NSW for example, almost half of all students enroled study online – it does come with a number of pitfalls. The two biggest of which are the feeling of isolation experienced by online learners, and higher attrition rates.

Below we take a look at how two Australian Higher Education providers, the University of Adelaide, and TAFE NSW are working to develop engaging online content, as well as social learning environments and experiences that allow students to thrive.
