AI Revolution

Corporate Learning Week AI Revolution’s inaugural panel kicked off the conference with an important message: AI is most effective within L&D when it’s used to uplift every employee. The following steps are key to achieving that vision, our panelists explained:

Enable and Value Feedback

When determining which AI tools to use, the panel agreed, basing decisions off of which tools employees find valuable is key. Enabling a mechanism through which all members of the workforce can share their pain points and recommend areas for improvement is imperative. There should be a place for people to give feedback, said Spencer Uba-Oyibu, Director of Learning & Development at Mass Mutual.

Prioritize Inclusivity and Accessibility

A major benefit of integrating AI into the structure of company learning programs is the opportunity to leverage it to improve the inclusivity and accessibility of AI programs. The personalization that AI offers already helps create inclusivity and accessibility by offering unique learning pathways for each employee. AI can also analyze learning programs for any gaps or biases, and can offer accessible options for those with vision or hearing impairments, said Wendy Roberts, former Global Head of Technology Education at PayPal.

Bringing the Human Element to AI

You can never just use AI by itself, said Sadie Bell, Vice President of Innovation & Deployment, People Systems and Automation at Hewlett-Packard Enterprises. People have to work together with AI, checking for misinformation and guiding AI to ensure that it provides maximum value to the workforce.
